Carna Amalgamation Too Strong For Renvyle Girls

Eagles Nest failed to complete a historic double when the girls were defeated by 4-7 to 2-0 in the last of the Cumann na mBunscol West Connemara finals.  Nevertheless they put up a terrific display against what was effectively a Carna club team, the Carna schools unfairly opting to amalgamate instead of playing off among themselves to determine which individual school should play in the final.  Their greater all round physical strength, particularly in midfield was the main reason for their success, yet the final scoreline flattered them somewhat.
