Top Quality Fare At Cumann na mBunscol Football Finals

Roinn C Girls Football (9-a-Side)

Glenamaddy 2-10, Eagles Nest/Lettergesh 1-5  Glenamaddy, helped by a strengthening breeze, got off to a bright start and had five fine points on the scoreboard before Kim Young smashed a free to the Glenamaddy net in the tenth minute.  The excellent Emer Fahy replied with a goal for Glenamaddy and stamped her authority in the proceedings with three more points before half time.  Eagle’s Nest/Lettergesh attacked with purpose on the resumption and two early points from Mary Flaherty closed the gap.  A fine save from Niamh Fahy in the Glenamaddy goal was crucial and assured defending from her backs restricted the girls from the West to points from Sinead Salmon and Kim Young.  At the other end, slick passing movements resulted in points for Emer Fahy and Lorna Fallon, before the latter finished a fine move to the net to effectively end the hopes of their rivals.  Glenamaddy Scorers:  Emer Fahy 1-7, Lorna Fallon 1-1, Hannah Dolan 0-1, Rachel Molloy 0-1.  Eagle’s Nest/Lettergesh Scorers:  Kim Young 1-1, Mary Faherty 0-2, Sinead Salmon 0-2.  Referee:  Frank Kineen
